This position exists to become a fully functional environmental protection specialist specializing in product stewardship programs for hard to recycle materials. Under supervision and support of other recycling and producer responsibility specialist in the unit, the position will: 1) conduct inspections for the Paint Stewardship Programs, as well as inspections of other solid waste recycling facilities; 2) provide compliance assistance and technical outreach to the regulated community, and 3) collect, analyze, and evaluate waste diversion recycling data associated with hard to recycle materials and authorized product stewardship programs. This position performs regulatory oversight of Colorado’s Paint Stewardship Program, as authorized under SB 14-029. Specific duties of this position are completed with supervisor oversight as an EPS I position.
Diversion Designers is looking for people to help with composting and recycling at Colorado events this summer.
Elements Mountain Compost is seeking a composting technician to support the weekly collection and processing of food scraps to create compost. The position involves driving a large pickup truck (no CDL required), moving and cleaning bins, and sifting and bagging compost outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Additional duties may include communicating with current and potential customers, staffing farmers market events, turning compost piles and general site maintenance. No composting experience required, paid training is included but candidates must be dedicated, self-motivated and able to work independently.
The Operations Manager – Processing, manages relationships with recycling post-collection facilities and processors. This role will oversee CAA’s reimbursement program for post-collection services, including material recovery facilities (MRFs), transfer facilities, and secondary processing. The Operations Manager - Processing will also collaborate with CAA Colorado teammates, the CAA national organization, and external stakeholders to on ramp new materials onto the Minimum Recyclable List (MRL) and invest in Colorado’s recycling infrastructure. This role will ensure workflows are managed to meet critical implementation, operational, and reporting deadlines.

This role manages relationships and service agreements with recycling collection service providers including municipal, contracted, open market, and drop-off. The C3 marketing and communications specialist ensures that program communications correctly reflect strategic program goals and priorities, regulations as necessary, and technical discussions related to the program. The C3 Rural Outreach and Technical Specialist identifies projects that align with the board’s strategic plan and program priorities, and works with identified applicants to develop grant request documents for rural communities that align with board criteria. The C3 program defines rural areas a county or geographical area outside of the Front Range as defined in Section 25-16-104.5 (3.9)(c.5), C.R.S. (Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Douglas, Elbert, El Paso, Jefferson, Larimer, Pueblo, Teller and Weld and the cities/counties of Broomfield and Denver.) The rural outreach and technical specialist provides permitting and regulatory counsel to potential applicants and the board of directors as needed, in regard to potential regulatory challenges that may affect the shovel readiness or ultimate success of rural projects. The role serves as the point of contact for internal and external outreach and communications as related to rural area relationship development, and as the first point of contact for rural partnerships, and plays a vital role in the formulation of operational processes to bolster program success. This role anticipates and analyzes the impact and consequences of decisions made and through this process, is resource to others in the field. As an outreach and technical assistance arm of the C3 team, this role focuses on information and references from strategic partners to identify rural projects that align with the board’s goals and strategic plan. This position also develops rural relationships through direct outreach and relationship development. The Rural Outreach and Technical Specialist uses information obtained to guide funding applicants to achieve effective results. This role is also tasked with internal and external outreach and communications as related to rural relationship development.
The Auraria Campus is looking for a talented Sustainability Coordinator to join the Auraria Sustainability Campus Program (ASCP) to develop and execute a robust Education and Outreach plan, assist the Director of Sustainability with annual Greenhouse Gas Inventory requirements, manage and develop the student employees, facilitate opportunities for further student involvement, and otherwise expand the capacity of the ASCP. Circular Action Alliance is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Operations Assistant to support our team in data analytics, tracking, and managing paperwork related to EPR compliance and circular economy initiatives. As a key member of our operations team, you will assist in gathering, processing, and analyzing data to ensure the smooth execution of programs aimed at reducing waste and increasing recycling. You will also help maintain records, assist with reports, and support the team in various administrative tasks that drive our mission forward.
The Zero Waste Valet Associate is responsible for transporting recyclables, compostables and trash for concessions on the B concourse, and educating their staff about best practices in waste diversion. The ZWV Associate will also be responsible for communicating with the Program Manager, Program Director and DEN Airport Sustainability team about how concessions are performing, rates of contamination, and ideas for improvement and/or increased efficiencies for the program. ZWV Associates will weigh each waste stream from each concession and record that weight, along with any instances of contamination, using a specially designed software. This data will be used by Scraps and DEN to report on the impact of the pilot program and to generate progress reports for the concessions themselves. After weights are recorded, ZWV Associates will bring the waste to the proper disposal area (chute, compactor, toter, etc) throughout the concourse.
