Aspen sees ‘positive impact’ with Organic Waste Diversion ordinance

"Last October, the ordinance went into effect to ensure all businesses within Aspen city limits with retail food licenses have been composting, donating, or disposing of organic waste instead of placing it within regular trash cans as had previously been accepted. And according to Waste Diversion and Recycling Administrator Ainsley Brosnan-Smith, since the program’s inception, it’s been nothing short of a complete success."

CDPHE Seeking Applicant for Producer Responsibility Advisory Board

The City of Boulder’s first deconstruction project since its 2020 sustainability ordinance has single-handedly kept 60.8 million pounds out of the landfill. National Survey of Over 1,000 U.S. Residents Provides Insight on Recycling Decisions

The Foodservice Packaging Institute released a summary of findings from its Resident Messaging Survey, sharing information related to resident assumptions on recyclability, awareness of what items can be recycled, and top sources of recycling instructions. The survey focused on recycling messaging related to items such as plastic cups and containers, paper cups and pizza boxes. Survey respondents indicated that the type of material plays a greater role than the form, such as a cup or box, in the decision to recycle an item. 2023 Annual Meeting

Thank you to everyone that joined us Friday in Salida for the 2023 Annual Meeting and Green Drinks!

The event in Salida was beautiful! The Salida Steamplant Events Center offered the perfect location for our event, with the Arkansas River out back below a view of the Salida S Mountain that peeked through yellow trees. A short drive, or bike ride, down the road offered another amazing venue for Recycle Colorado's first "Green Drinks" hosted at Elevations Beer Company. It was incredible to bring everyone together once again and share laughs, ideas, and a drink, in the spirit of recycling, waste and compost.

City of Pueblo looking for RecycleWorks Partners for Recyclable Materials

The City of Pueblo opened the City's RecycleWorks in 2018 as a free recycling drop-off location for area residents.  Currently the recycle center accepts cardboard, newspaper, mixed papers, glass, metal, plastic, and other related recyclable materials.  Other recyclable materials are accepted for a minimal fee.
