The Colorado Regulations Pertaining to Solid Waste Sites and Facilities, 6 CCR 1007-2 Part 1, require owners and/or operators of a solid waste disposal site and facility to have a plan with appropriate waste handling procedures that can be implemented during waste disturbance projects.  In addition, there are many properties across Colorado used historically for solid waste disposal where redevelopment and construction projects encounter expected and unexpected waste.  Having a plan with appropriate waste handling procedures is necessary during these projects as well.  A Materials Management Plan helps to define the appropriate waste handling procedures.

Please join SWANA for a focused workshop to discuss procedures for the safe handling of solid waste during disturbance activities (e.g., excavation, drilling, etc.) and to help develop a template Materials Management Plan.  A stakeholder process with CDPHE will follow this workshop as a policy related to the Safe Handling of Solid Waste during Disturbance Activities is developed.
