Producer Responsibility Advisory Board Meeting #31

Category: Other Events
Last month’s technical work session generated another productive discussion. Members of Colorado’s Producer Responsibility Advisory Board examined CAA’s proposal for implementing eco-modulation factors into the program and received valuable feedback from experts on the advisory board who represent a broad spectrum of the recycling industry. The intricacies related to determining base dues, along with the procedures governing the designation of bonuses and maluses were of particular interest to the board and catalyzed a highly engaging and productive discussion which culminated in a number of considerations being provided to CAA. In addition to feedback received from the board, members of the public also provided feedback and insight on the proposal, and were able to engage with board members and CAA in real time. As these discussions show, our monthly technical work sessions provide an invaluable opportunity for stakeholders to collaborate with one another. If you haven’t already registered for the technical work sessions, make sure to do so by clicking the link in the following section. Next week, the advisory board will hold its 31st business meeting. The meeting will be conducted virtually and will take place on October 9, 2024 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. During this meeting, CAA will update the board on both the status of producer registration following the October 1 deadline, and the feedback CAA has received on their consultation sessions. The board will then engage in a followup discussion on the creation of end-markets for recycled products, the cost formula for reimbursing service providers, and strategy for ensuring collaboration between recycling service providers and compost manufacturers. The meeting will then be rounded out with an introduction to CAA’s proposed producer reporting categories. The meeting agenda will be made available on the Producer Responsibility Advisory Board webpage along with meeting materials and recordings from prior meetings. The meeting will include Spanish interpretation. Stakeholders and members of the public are welcome to observe the meeting, and provide public comment. Register for the advisory board meeting here. |
