Recycle Colorado announces new executive director

Recycle Colorado is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristin Kim Haynes as its new executive director, effective April 13, 2020.

Haynes brings diverse experience with non-profit management and business development to Recycle Colorado. Haynes served as Chief Operating Officer for the Colorado chapter of the national trade association Independent Electrical Contractors from 2012 to 2015 where she designed, marketed, and managed over 30 events per year, set up an award winning workforce initiative, and championed membership development and strategic partnerships. Most recently, Haynes was the Founding Director of a private business that manages American-made vending machines in the Denver area working with office parks, schools, gyms, churches, airports, and more.

Board President Tim Dailey said, “During our search, Kristin stood out with her approach to events, coordination of both board members and staff, as well as her endless energy. Her commitment and desire to lead Recycle Colorado is both exciting and welcome.” Haynes was selected from a regional search for candidates late last year. She received wide support from the Recycle Colorado Board of Directors during a further interview process in March.

Haynes graduated from Kenyon College in Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in English. She is a certified Meyers-Briggs practitioner, attended the Institute for Organization Management through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Harvard University’s Extension School for Managerial Accounting. You might run into Haynes on the golf course or being a foodie supporting local Denver restaurants.

Haynes is eager to get started. She is available at [email protected]. Recycle Colorado members will get to meet Haynes virtually for now.

Recycle Colorado is an action-oriented and member-driven organization that works on projects that are tangible, actionable and measurable related to infrastructure and end markets for material recovery, reuse and manufacturing. We also work to advance both local and state policy that supports keeping valuable material resources out of our landfills.
