Summit for Recycling
June 14-16, 2020
Renaissance Stapleton Denver
Denver, Colorado
www.recyclecolorado.org/summit-for-recycling
Deadline for Proposals: March 13, 2020
Theme: “Transforming Recycling: Building a Circular Economy in the Rockies”
The Summit for Recycling conference brings together the state's recycling professionals and individuals dedicated to the principles of recycling. Through break-out sessions and plenaries, Summit attendees will explore advancements in infrastructure, end-market development and policies in waste reduction, recovery and diversion.
Recycle Colorado invites you to submit a proposal that will offer original content and an interactive experience for our attendees. Along with networking opportunities and a rich exhibit hall experience, we want the 2020 Summit for Recycling program to speak to the business community, processors, recyclers and the local governments and nonprofits that drive participation in recycling and local economies.
Session formats will include applied working sessions, case-study sessions, educational workshops and panel discussions. We are looking for speakers who can inspire, involve attendees in dialogue, and offer attendees tangible tools to improve their programs or processes.
Topics
Speaker presentations should be non-commercial in nature and appeal to a diverse and discriminating audience that has strong technical experience. The planning committee is interested in hearing from potential speakers who can address the theme: “Transforming Recycling: Building a Circular Economy in the Rockies.”
Topics might relate to the following:
- End Market Advancement: How can businesses and communities foster end markets for recovered materials and improve circularity? How can organizations take advantage of grants?
- Innovations: How is technology improving recycling and composting capabilities? How do we create circularity between package designers and recyclers?
- Collaboration: What does an effective partnership between waste generators and recyclers look like? How can governments collaborate regionally to deal with waste?
- Policy: How could extended producer responsibility work in the Rockies? How can policy support efforts in rural and urban communities?
